GeoAI Instructor

As a GeoAI instructor, you will be responsible for teaching concepts and techniques related to GeoAI, including the application of AI to geospatial data, the development of models for spatial analysis, and the integration of advanced technologies with traditional geographic information systems.

Who are you?

  • At least a completed master’s degree (MSc) (mandatory requirement)
  • Relevant fields of study
  • You have a good command of the Dutch language (mandatory requirement)
  • Teaching experience is definitely a plus
  • Work experience is not required; we will train you
  • You will obtain the Basic Teaching Qualification (BKO) through us so that you become a certified higher education instructor
  • You have learned to program and/or gained knowledge of GeoAI
  • You can keep a cool head during busy periods and enjoy working both independently and in a team
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to network effectively and build relationships

About Geo-ICT Training Center

Geo-ICT Training Center, Netherlands is a training institute for geoinformation and a platform for those starting out in the geosector. We accept graduates from vocational, higher vocational, and university programs in all fields of study on an ongoing basis throughout the year. Since 2015, Geo-ICT Training Center, Netherlands has been offering candidates the opportunity to launch their careers in the geosector. To date, we have trained and guided approximately 250 trainees toward careers in Geo-ICT.

As a GeoAI Instructor, you will teach concepts and techniques related to GeoAI—which involves applying artificial intelligence to geospatial data. While knowledge of GeoAI, programming languages, and geodata is desirable, it is not strictly required if you have the right mindset and a willingness to learn. Geo-ICT provides guidance and offers opportunities for further professional development in the workplace.

You’ll have the opportunity to help shape the growing geospatial sector and apply your expertise in AI and geospatial technology in a practical setting. You’ll also work in small groups, teach, and collaborate with other geospatial professionals, while helping to train the next generation of geospatial specialists. Additionally, you may have the option to work in a hybrid capacity—teaching as well as taking on project-based assignments with one of our clients, if desired.

This position is ideal for professionals with an academic background who have an affinity for AI, data, and geoinformation, and who are strong communicators. It’s perfect if you enjoy sharing knowledge, have strong technical skills, and are interested in contributing to training and development within the geospatial sector.

You will prepare course materials, teach classes (in person or online), guide trainees through assignments related to GeoAI and geodata, and stay up to date on developments in AI and GIS. You will also maintain contact with colleagues and your professional network. You may be required to work on-site for a client for one or two days.
