The business community, academia, and the government have joined forces to develop a vision for the future of the geosector. This vision is outlined in the GeoSamen vision document. GeoSamen is a collaborative program involving the government, research institutions, and the business community, based on a shared vision for the future of the geosector.
The geosector will need a great many new professionals in the coming years. If you are new to the sector, we recommend starting by watching a few videos about GIS and ICT.
Our vision is that there is a wealth of knowledge within our geospatial sector and that it is a massive growth market. The insular nature of surveying firms and the pushy tactics of expensive software vendors still hold us back somewhat. But most importantly, our sector still needs thousands of new and young employees. As a platform for newcomers to the geospatial sector, we are happy to do our part.
