With Google Cloud, you can securely store geospatial data while gaining access to advanced tools such as BigQuery and Google Earth Engine. This allows you to process and analyze massive datasets at unprecedented speeds, which is essential for geo-ICT.
In addition, Google Cloud offers various services for geospatial processes, ranging from storage and processing to advanced analytics. As a result, you can execute large-scale geodata projects not only faster but also more efficiently.
In this course, you’ll gain a solid foundation in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and learn how to use it optimally for geodata processing. You’ll discover how GCP compares to other cloud platforms and how it contributes to the efficient management of geospatial data.
You’ll learn how virtual machines, databases, and storage services work within GCP and how powerful tools like Google Kubernetes Engine, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage form a robust cloud environment. You’ll also gain insight into security and cost optimization, enabling you to manage cloud resources securely and efficiently.
A key component is the application of GCP within GIS. You’ll learn how GCP processes and analyzes spatial data, and how to use BigQuery GIS and Google Maps Platform for geodata visualization.
Blended learning combines self-paced online learning with hands-on, interactive sessions, allowing you to gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience with Google Cloud for geospatial data analysis. The online modules offer flexibility, while interactive classes teach you how to use Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for storing, processing, and analyzing geodata. Thanks to direct access to the course materials, you can review and practice the material at any time.
During hands-on online sessions, you’ll apply your knowledge immediately. You’ll work with real geospatial datasets and receive live guidance on using BigQuery GIS and Google Maps Platform. This allows you to put theory into practice right away and develop hands-on skills for cloud-based geospatial data analysis.
The combination of flexible online learning and practical experience ensures that you not only understand the fundamentals of Google Cloud Fundamentals but also apply them in realistic GIS workflows. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to manage, analyze, and visualize geospatial data using the powerful tools of Google Cloud.

All courses are taught in person. Course hours are from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Coffee, tea, lunch, and a laptop are provided.
Taking a course online is also possible, but we only offer hybrid courses in exceptional cases. If you wish to participate in a course online, please indicate this during registration—select “Online” as the location. If that is not possible, this course will only be offered on-site in Apeldoorn.
Yes, we do this regularly. Our instructor will come to your location and bring laptops for the participants. All you need to do is arrange a classroom at your location.

After each course, participants receive a link to our evaluation portal. There, you can share your feedback on what you liked and didn’t like about the course. We always do our very best, but of course, there may be times when you have a complaint. Click on “Complaints Procedure.” It explains what steps you can take. After the course, we will email you a link to our evaluation portal. There, you can log in and fill out an evaluation form, and you can also download your certificate of participation.
