Course Schedule: PostGIS and PostgreSQL

Day 1

The course begins with an introduction. This section explains the functions and capabilities of PostGIS, how it differs from Oracle, and how it integrates with QGIS. Next, participants will lay the groundwork for their own database. They will learn how to import files, such as shapefiles and CSV files, and how the program works.

Day 2

On this day, we will continue to expand the database. We will work on creating spatial queries and practice filtering, presenting, and combining data.

Day 3

On this day, we will finalize the database. We will practice importing and exporting data and work with ODBC (Open Database Connectivity). We will then use the data you have entered into the database in QGIS.

By the end of the course, each participant will have created their own database and will know how to work with it.
