Visualization and WebGIS
In the WebGIS course, students learn how to create web maps. Python, HTML, and JavaScript are used for this purpose. We will also be working with the PostgreSQL database to store the data we want to present.
During this WebGIS course, we will first look at the various components needed to create a web map. We’ll start by adding a background to the web map. Next, we’ll use OpenLayers to add several geographic features to the web map. Then, we’ll import the data we’re interested in into PostGIS (a database). After that, we’ll add data from the database to the web map. Finally, we’ll perform simple GIS analyses in the web map.
