As a Field Technician, you conduct soil and water surveys: you collect soil and/or water samples, install monitoring wells where necessary to measure water quality or water levels, and accurately record all measurements and observations.
Your work provides the data used to assess soil and water quality. This is crucial for remediation projects, environmental assessments, and land-use planning. Without reliable field data, accurate analysis and sound decision-making are not possible.

You will immediately receive a salary of approximately €2,500 to €3,000 gross per month. In addition, you will receive comprehensive in-house training (soil investigation, possibly using GIS or CAD), and there are opportunities for career advancement. A company car and travel allowance are also included in the package.
A typical day might look like this: You start on-site by setting up equipment, taking samples or measurements (soil, water), and then recording the data in field or data logs. Later, you process the data, report your findings, and consult with project leaders or specialists about next steps.
You can work on a wide range of environmental or soil/water research projects: soil investigations, remediation projects, soil quality, water level monitoring, or environmental monitoring—depending on the client and project team.
As you gain experience, there are opportunities for advancement to roles such as Mid-Level/Senior Field Worker, Soil/Water Project Manager, or Environmental/Soil Consultant.
