My first encounter with GIS took place during my studies in Forestry and Nature Management. Although it was a love-hate relationship at first, I quickly became fascinated by the power of spatial visualizations in planning and research.
During my studies, I learned to perform spatial analyses and to collect and process data—a combination I thoroughly enjoyed. After graduating, I worked as a teaching assistant in the Forestry and Nature Management program at Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences, where GIS once again became a key part of my work.
In 2022, I joined Geo-ICT through my work in bat research and education. The combination of geo-ICT and teaching turns out to be a perfect fit for me.
For 1.5 years, I was seconded to Mateboer Milieutechniek, where I worked as a GIS specialist. Recently, I have become fully available again as an instructor for courses in QGIS, ArcGIS, MicroStation, and FME. I enthusiastically share my knowledge and practical experience with students.
